Kingaroy Swimming Club

Kingaroy Aquatic Centre

The club works closely with the lessees of the Kingaroy Aquatic Centre(KAC), Warren and Shan Knight to promote swimming in the Kingaroy area. KAC located one block from the centre of town in William St( ph 07 4162 1863) is a well maintained facility comprising a 50 m pool, an indoor heated 12.5 m pool, landscaped gardens including a beach volleyball court and barbecue area.

Warren and Shan are very open to new ideas and supportive of the local community. Do give them a call for more information on swimming in Kingaroy.

This section will include a history of the Kingaroy Pool but I have yet to get the information to put here. So far all I know is that the pool was opened in 1946 as is called the W.J Lang Olympic Pool. The first coach and leesee Clyde French did a great job until his retirement in 1989, highlights of his time included a State medalist,Robyn French, one of his daughters, and a State Record holder. Clyde's grandchildren are now current club members and include a State medallist. Watch this space for more information soon!
